I am a 2010 graduate of the University of
North Carolina Wilmington where I received my B.S. in Marine Biology (and
a minor in psychology). I started by doing some volunteer work and
substitute teaching for the Center, which soon led to my current position
as an Administrative Assistant! It is such an amazing place to be and I am
thankful for the opportunity I have been given to work with all of the
wonderful people here.
The Lord has given me a huge heart and passion for marine biology,
mission work, and photography. While going to school in Wilmington I
was able to intern at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and
Rehabilitation Center, where I worked with Animal Planet's 2007 Hero of
the Year, Jean Beasley, and fell in love with sea turtles. After
graduation, I interned at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium where I
worked with penguins, sea turtles, sea horses, and other salt water
fishes. I know get to us my science background to teach Biology lab to
some of the high school students at CCS. As far as my love for
missions, it has been something I have
been interested in for quite some time. It wasn't until 2009 though
that God sent me on my first trip to New Mexico and Arizona, where
I got to spend time in
the Navajo Nation. Two years later I felt very strongly that the Lord was
calling me to go to Haiti, as well as lead a trip to The Pittsburgh Project. The
experiences I have had in these places have
been life changing and God has taught me so many things through them. I
absolutely love sharing what I love with other people and
I am excited to see how God will continue to use these things to touch
others and help them learn about Him!
