My Philosophy I believe God has created each student with the abilitiy to learn and develop in a way that will bring Him honor. Each child has unique strengths and weaknesses that challenge them in their daily life. As a teacher, I hope to bring knowledge and understanding to nurture their strengths as they mature. As every small child learns through play, older students mature as they act out what they see and understand around them. It is therefore most important to establish an environment that promotes a Biblical world view. We are all at some stage of learning in our lives. As I learn and grow my heart's desire is to live the way God has designed me; to lead, encourage and teach others. My Education I attended public school through grade 12 at Garnet Valley in Delaware County, PA. My first year of college was at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY. (1991-1992) I graduated from Cairn University in 1996 with a Bachlors of Science in Bible and a teaching certification from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Since beginning my career with Champion Christian School, I have continued my education with certifications, conferences and classes that further my knowledge and opportunities in teaching PreK through Middle School students. These
certifications include: Pennsylvania State Teacher Nursery/Kindergarten
Certification, ACSI Educator Certificate of Elementary Teacher,
and ACSI Educator Certificate for Bible Specialist, Adult/Child/Infant
CPR, and Adult/Child/Infant First Aid My

When I have some time to myself I enjoy geocaching, quilting, reading, inductive Bible study, gardening, photography and just relaxing with my family nearby. I
love to travel! Some of the interesting adventures I've been on include
studying Marine Biology and Zoology with "People to People Youth
Science Exchange" in Australia and New Zealand, serving at Word of Life
Bible Institute in Owen Sound, Canada, visiting the states of
California, Texas, Florida, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey,
Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. My family is from the Philadelphia
area of Pennsylvania and New Castle, Pennsylvania. I presently live an hour from Pittsburgh. I enjoy trips to places like Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Valley Forge, and Erie in Pennsylvania, as well as, Baltimore, Washington DC, Boston, New York City and Cincinnati with Champion Christian School. My Life My husband, Shawn, and I were married in 1996 after my graduation from Philadelphia College of Bible (renamed Cairn University). We lived in New Castle, PA for six years where we started a family and a journey into missions. We served as missionaries with MMS Aviation in Coshocton, OH for six years. I homeschooled our three daughters for three years. When we moved to Fayette county in 2009, I continued homeschooling one more year before we enrolled the girls in private Christian education. I began teaching in Christian schools in 2011. As an educator and a Christian I value God's word and want to express a Biblical worldview in all aspects of my life. I love teaching about God through all the aspects of the cirriculum here at Champion Christian School.
My Testimony For generations my family has known the Lord in a personal way. That is to say, we have confessed that we are sinners, professed Jesus Christ as our Savior, and we devote time daily in knowing God through His Word, the Bible. At the age of five, I received Jesus as my Savior. I understood that there was only one way to Heaven and I must believe Jesus died for my sins and accept Him. When I was a teen I attended a public school and saw many of my peers behaving and speaking in ungodly ways. I knew I wanted to be different and follow the truth of God's word not the lies they told me. I went with my youth group to a Christian camp, Word of Life in Schroon Lake, New York. It was at that camp where I rededicated my life to Christ. I wanted to do whatever he wanted me to and go wherever He led me.
My Favorite Bible Verses Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will do it. |
