Dear Ministry Leaders:


You know and understand the significant threats inherent in operating a church, school or ministry. Many of us are looking for programs to help us implement research and experience-based safety policies and procedures. The Laurel Mountain Ministerial Association, along with the Christian Family & Children's Center, and Church Insurance Specialists are hosting such a program presented by Christian Ministry Risk Specialists from Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. 
The program will be provided by Brotherhood Mutual National Presenters, Robert J. Wild, MBA and Bob Johnson, National Security Experts on Saturday, February 23rd from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Christian Family & Children’s Center’s North Campus in Donegal, 1076 King's Way, Donegal, PA 15628.  You can find out more about the presenters at www.champion.org/safety Church Insurance Specialists will be sponsoring free snacks, drinks, and lunch for the day. 

This program is free to the public.  Small donations will be accepted to benefit the Laurel Mountain Ministerial Association.
 
The program will contain the following topics:
• Active Shooter Preparation
• Best Practices for utilizing volunteers for your team
• How Domestic Violence Spills Over in the Church and what we can do about it
• Identifying Sexual Predators

There will be an optional extended program for Christian Schools after the main session from 2pm to 4pm dedicated to school safety and security:
• Common sense security measures
• How to Create a Safety and Security Mind Set in our Schools

Event Specifics:
• Register by contacting the Center via emailing info@champion.org or calling 724-593-9200 with the name of the organization, names of participants, and contact information.
• Lunch, drinks and snacks for the day will be provided by Church Insurance Specialists
• The Center is working to see about providing a Professional Continuing Education Credit to attendees through ACSI for those attending

We are asking that you RSVP as quickly as possible for planning purposes.  We would like to have an estimate on number of organizations and how many participants from those organizations.  Please let us know if you will be registering anyone for this event ASAP.

Bob Wild

Bob has been the Director of Finance and Administration and Risk Management for two mega churches over the past 25 years: Vineyard Christian Fellowship of North Phoenix and Christ's Church of the Valley, both located in the Phoenix area.  Bob has served on several boards including the local Phoenix NACBA chapter, CCV Youth Sports Inc., the largest nonprofit youth sports program in Arizona and Financial Planning Ministry, a national estate planning ministry to the local church.  Bob wrote and self published an instruction manual for church planters called:  Growing Your Church From The Ground Up: The Corporate Side. Bob has been published in Church Executive Magazine, Christianity Today and Group Publishing’s professional edition for their Children's Magazine.  In 2009 Bob joined the team at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company as the Sr. Director-Strategic Alliances.  Bob holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters Degree in Business. Bob has four children and 3 grand children

Bob Johnson 

Served as the Director of Safety and Security for Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona from 2005-2017.  His core responsibility was leading a team of more than 350 staff and volunteers, ensuring the protection of 9 campuses with a total of over 30,000 in weekly attendance.

 For the past 47 years, Mr. Johnson has been actively involved in both Public and Private Sector Security.  Concurrent with part of this experience he spent 20 years in the Arizona Army National guard, reaching the rank of Command Sergeant Major.  During 10 of his 23 years with the Phoenix Police Department, Bob was a Detective with the Organized Crime Bureau. He became proficient in complex multi-agency investigations, working side by side with the FBI, IRS, Secret Service, DEA and other agencies to infiltrate and unravel money laundering, narcotics, gambling, prostitution, fraud, murder for hire and many other state and federal crimes.  His military time culminated with assignment to the Arizona Military Academy overseeing leadership and management training for the State’s Officers and NCOs.  Bob served as the Director of Security for Domino’s Pizza’s second largest franchisee.  He was responsible for 85 stores in Arizona.

 In addition to his responsibilities at Christ’s Church of the Valley, he actively assists other churches as they identify, recruit, train and deploy their safety and security teams. Since 2010, Bob has travelled the United States conducting safety and security seminars and threat/vulnerability assessments for churches. In over 200 training events, Bob has instructed over 15,000 people from all 50 states and Canada. 

Bob has been married for 46 years and has two children and six grandchildren all living in the Phoenix area.
